Dhaka- (UNB) – The main index at Dhaka Stock Exchange continued to show a downtrend for the third straight day yesterday (Tuesday) amid slumping trade.

The DSE all Share Price Index lost 5.63 points or 0.90 percent to close at 622.23 points from Monday’s 627.86 points.

The DSE-20 index also shed 11.06 points or 0.89 percent to close at 1226.22 points from Monday’s 1237.28 points.

Of the 152 listed securities traded yesterday, 117 declined, 25 advanced and 10 remained unchanged.

Some 1,514,960 shares and debentures worth Tk 9.02 crore were transacted against 1,564,704 shares valued at Tk 8.61 crore on the previous trading day.

Fu-Wang Food (249,000), Sinobangla (168,000), Aims First Mutual Fund (140,000) and Chic Tex (101,500) were among the volume leaders.

Market capitalisation stood at Tk 59.31 billion from Tk 59.85 billion on Monday.
